I'm trying to get re-situated after traveling for the holidays. Writing may or may not happen today.

Today, I feel like I am almost at the castle, but for some reason, I am never quite getting there....

Posted a fic last night (i.e. about 12 hours ago). Not my usual time, but I didn't think that'd make a difference and I made a tweet linking to it like usual anyway.

Woke up this morning: 9 hits, 0 kudos.

Retweeted it again this morning and now I'm up to 12 hits at least? I checked my twitter notifs because I always tag a couple of people who are happy just to see content of the character, but I guess since it was a weird time neither has commented on it yet - just got a 'Looking forward to reading after work!'

Hah. It's a small fandom, and even within that my favourite character is pretty unpopular, so I know it's just a very limited audience. And I genuinely think this fic is pretty good - it's 8k and a nice mix of angst and fluff and humour all in a genuinely bittersweet and heartwarming package, at least for me. Buuuut in the first half of the year I would get like 3 comments or so on AO3 for each fic, but my last two fics got 0 and 1 respectively :/ (The one was really nice though!!!)(And I did get a couple of comments on twitter but since they were from people I tagged so I basically asked them to say something nice...)

So...I'd just really like if this could get at least a few kudos and one comment. I know that it's 99% because of the small potential audience, and I'm not even really questioning myself right now like I usually would, but getting good comments on my writing is such a nice and good and important source of happy chemicals for me and I guess I kinda got used to them in my last fandom which was a bit more close-knit and forthright.

Ahh, I'm overthinking it - it hasn't even been 24 hours yet! I'm just worried;;; It's such a nice feeling to know you can make something that other people like and I've really been missing that lately hahah;;
