Hello, writers! What have you been able to accomplish today toward your February goal?
— I wrote today!
— I planned and/or researched something.
— I sat down and did some editing.
— I sent things to my beta.
— I posted!
— I focused on something else today.
Writing question time: What would you say is an interesting quirk about your writing?

Date: Monday, February 3rd, 2020 13:24 (UTC)I'm not sure it counts as a quirk but I usually have at least two, if not more, alternating POVs, rather than picking one character and sticking with them.

Date: Monday, February 3rd, 2020 16:23 (UTC)I tend to use alternating POV with a number of characters besides my main character. Also, many of my characters speak without using contractions.

Date: Monday, February 3rd, 2020 21:54 (UTC)Oh that's interesting about the lack of contractions in dialogue. Is there a certain setting you tend to write in where that's more prevalent? On review I do have a character I often write in that way myself (he's a foreigner so his language tends to be more textbook formal than most others).

Date: Tuesday, February 4th, 2020 01:24 (UTC)My favorite quirk – though I regard this as a glitch, not a quirk – is the Missing Word Bug. I type a sentence, and, to my eye, the sentence is complete, but there is a word missing that I do not catch, even after multiple passes through editing. Aggravating! But it has been a "feature" of my writing since I started.
