Hello on Wednesday -- sorry about missing yesterday, I just could not even get to a computer to post, let alone write, it was such a crazy day!
Anyway, what kind of a writing day has it been so far today for you -- or if today hasn't gotten going yet, how did you fare yesterday?
- I thought about my fic once or twice
- I wrote
- I did some planning and/or outlining
- I did research and/or canon review
- I edited
- I've sent my fic off to my beta
- I posted today!
- I'm taking a break
- I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment
Wednesday Discussion: How do you deal with days that are just too busy to allow you time to do anything writing related? Do you push through and do it anyway, or give yourself a break?

Date: Thursday, March 18th, 2021 03:52 (UTC)For days that are too busy... I have to make sure I actually *mean* that they're too busy, or if I'm using it as an excuse. (Because for me, sometimes it IS just an excuse, and it was one I gave into for way too long a few years ago.) I've done some things to try and make it easier on myself: I carry a notebook in my purse, so if I'm stuck waiting somewhere, I can maybe get a little bit of writing in. That was a big help for a bit over the summer.
If I've had a really rough day and just don't have the energy, but already have my computer (or notebook!) handy, I might just try to get down a few words. Even if it's only 100 words, or 50, or 25, it makes it feel less like I'm blowing it off, even if I didn't do much.
And lastly, if it's a day that I was just too damn busy, had too much happen, or just truly don't feel up to it, I let myself take a break. I just have to be careful that the breaks don't turn into their own pattern.
