Hello!
What kind of writing day did you have? What kind of writing day are you looking forward to?
- wrote some
- edited
- brainstormed/thought about my writing
- did some other writing-related activity
- life happened
- taking a break

Sunday discussion: on this day, let us discuss collaborations (including co-writers but beta readers, artists, sensitivity readers, prompters, commissioners etc.). Have you ever worked as part of one? If not, would you consider it? If yes, how was the experience?

I haven't gotten going yet, but my plan is to make myself sit with my current WIP chapter and write something on it today -- instead of falling back on "easier" writing like brainstorming or outlining or research.

I used to have a beta reader look over my stuff before posting it, but as a person who does editing "in real life" I now do all that myself because it helps me get things posted faster. I have beta read for others at times, but not consistently, mostly because I feel I need to be familiar with the canon of the writing to do a good job, and often I am not!

I've not started writing today yet, but I'll probably do a couple hundred words of some exchange fic planning.

I love collaborations, but I rarely get to actually do them due to time constraints, fandoms not overlapping with friends, etc. I used to do them a lot more often back in my college days. Since I've mostly worked with people I know very well, it's always been a good and fun experience.

I had a pretty good Sunday on the fanfic front, even if my original fic wasn't going great. My WIP has fallen a little on how big a buffer it has, but not enough to have me really worried.

Early in my fic writing beginnings, I was part of a robust community and I would swear by beta reading, especially since at the time, a lot of exchanges and fests required beta reading. I fell out of the fanfic world, and when I fell back in again, I didn't have that same kind of community. Somehow, I just never got back in the habit of getting my fic beta-read. I did try to do a reverse big bang once, and that was *sort of* a collaboration, but it didn't go too great and I don't think I would do it again.
