Tuesday's discussion question: Do you find wordcount a useful measurement of progression? Or do you use something else, like, time spent on wip?

384 words so far today, and hopefully it won't take too many more to finish up this fic draft. Then I can spend tomorrow editing and posting.

Wordcount is my main measure for fanfic, thought not for any particular reason except I tend to sign up for a fair amount of exchanges that have minimum requirements.

I had more time today for writing than I expected, so I got a fair bit done -- a mix of editing, outlining and brainstorming.

I have measured using time spent in the past, but word count is more motivating for me, as it gives me a goal as well as showing progression. My word counts vary wildly, but they are still encouraging!
