WIP Challenge check-in, day 14 -- Friday

What kind of writing day did you have?

Today's discussion question: do you have a kind of writing you turn to as solace? Maybe a genre, a wip, an AU, tropes or a voice?

I was out most of the day, so I have had no chance to even think about writing. I am home now and thinking of maybe poking at something fic-related, but I might be better off waiting until tomorrow.

Journaling is what I like to do when I need solace and I want to write, because it is easy. I also reread some of my favorite stories that I have written as a reminder that I have done some good ones. When I am in the writing groove, I usually enjoy working on a WIP. The problem with WIPs if, if they have been neglected for awhile, they need a bit of babying until they let you use them for solace again! Right now, my WIP needs babying because it is having a tantrum because I have neglected it!

It was a good writing day! I hit my 1000+ words on my WIP early, AND discovered that I can probably combine two of the fics I wanted to write this month into one, which has made that seem far more manageable.

I'm a predictable person, and a good old-fashioned hurt/comfort angst-with-a-happy-ending fic is my go-to comfort read. Though outside of fic, I turn back to favorite fantasy stories pretty frequently.
