WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 27 -- Tuesday

Hello on Tuesday!  What kind of a writing day has it been so far today -- or if today hasn't gotten going yet, how did you fare yesterday?

       - I posted today!
       - I'm taking a break

Tuesday Discussion:  Do original characters play a role in your writing?  Is their role a major one, or minor?

I didn't get very far with my WIP yesterday, which means I am probably not going to have much time this week, since I am busy every day. Thankfully, I have a two week vacation coming up at the end of the week, so I can set aside all these interruptions and get back to writing work.

I have a couple of OC's that are important to my WIP. Two in particular have a major role -- they don't appear in every chapter, but their impact on the story is significant.

Going well so far today. Six scenes to go. Had to rejigger the number and order of scenes in this chapter, but both scenes and chapters are coming out punchier as I rein in my overwordy tendencies.

Edit: OC's are playing a relatively minor part in my current book and have not been a major element in the series. I was always hesitant with them in my fic, but I've grown more confident and willing to employ them to my various and nefarious purposes. The closest thing in my work to original fiction would be the WIP that's set in an established fandom, but whose narrator and secondary main character are both OC's.
