WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 17 -- Tuesday

Hello on Tuesday!  What kind of a writing day has it been so far today -- or if today hasn't gotten going yet, how did you fare yesterday?

       - I thought about my fic once or twice
       - I wrote
       - I did some planning and/or outlining
       - I did research and/or canon review
       - I edited
       - I've sent my fic off to my beta
       - I posted today!
       - I'm taking a break
       - I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Tuesday Discussion:  Do you do research prior to writing or do you research as you go -- or do you do both?

I haven't started writing yet, but I should have some time this afternoon so I plan on doing canon review to get back into a writing frame of mind. As for research, I do a lot of it as I go, but I usually have a preliminary research time before starting a fic. So the answer is both, but I really do most of it as I am writing and discover something I need more info on!

Up late last night. Three scenes to go in this chapter, two of which are mostly outlined and partly written.

I'll often research before diving, but it's almost never enough and I end up needing more later on. Sometimes regarding the original subject, sometimes something tangential.
