WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 3 -- Friday

Hello on Friday!  Looking back at the day today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet -- how did it go?

   - I thought about my fic once or twice
   - I wrote
   - I did some planning and/or research
   - I edited
   - I've sent my fic off to my beta
   - I posted today!
   - I'm taking a break
   - I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Looking forward, how are you planning to spend your weekend?

   - I'm going to make up for not writing all week by having a writing marathon
   - I'm going to keep writing at my current rate and see how it goes
   - I have other plans, but I might have time to get some writing in
   - I'm going to take a break from writing

I'm going for the writing marathon this weekend to get caught up, and I hope I don't get interrupted!

Good luck! Have you ever done fic_rush? A whole two days writing as much as you can is a little intimidating, but I'm intrigued by it.

I haven't heard of fic_rush, it looks interesting. Not sure that's what I need this weekend, but I'm going to look into if for the future!

I've been thinking about my fic all day, mostly because I was outlining this morning. While I'd been blazing through the outline earlier, I've gotten to trickier parts so things are coming slower. I'm not letting it discourage me though because this isn't a race.

My weekend time is going to be spent on finishing my outline, getting it properly fleshed out on a Doc, and then starting my research process. I've already made a list of what I want to look into. tbh all of this has me excited because the story is taking directions that I hadn't thought of before and it's making the narrative fuller. I just need to pin down the 'why' of what's going on. Like 'why this story?' and 'why this ending?' So that's going to be my focus over the next few days.

I wrote! Only 255 words, but it's writing!

I work this weekend, but I'm going to set myself some low goals for each day, and try to keep up some slow and steady progress.
