Hello on Monday!  How's the day going so far for fic? (If you haven't gotten started on your day as yet, how did yesterday go for writing fic?)

    - Excellent!
    - Terrible
    - Somewhere in between
    - Nothing doing

How much time have you spent on writing fic today, roughly?

    - None
    - 30 minutes or less
    - 30-60 minutes
    - 60-90 minutes
    - More than 90 minutes

In five words or less, how do you feel about that?

Yes, to 'Need to redeem my time!'. Where does it all go tbh? Feels like there should be enough time in the day to do everything but then bedtime rolls around and it's like ??? I thought I had more time than that!

Mornings haven't been a big thing for me in terms of writing lately. Most of this is probably because I put first priority on packing, moving and other responsible activities, then squeeze out whatever writing I can in the evening. Last night I did finish another scene, so I'm optimistic for tonight even though nothing so far today.

How did night writing go last night? Any breakthroughs?

😭 Is it all the 'nights' in the sentence? Or did I accidentally make an innuendo that I'm not aware of? Help! Lol

Hah, more like me going lol despite my media blackouts I really do get too much mindvirus in my daily life. In this case it was just because the first thing I thought of was breakthrough infections (and sorry but I spent the last ten minutes trying to figure out how to mark this up spoiler-style before finally giving up :000000

Yesterday, I reached my 1K goal for the week for this WIP! Surpassed it really. I think I'm at 1.3K which means last week was a success :)

For this week, I'm once again aiming for 1K. I think it's achievable because the words are coming easily and I'm growing beyond pieces of my outline that needed better fleshing out.

Feeling pretty good and accomplished right now. I want to take this energy with me into the rest of this week!

I meant to write, but there were errands to run and then a family dinner, and in between, I spent more time playing games than reading or writing. I did some journaling, and wrote a bit of filler fluff on a story I haven't touched in a while. I'm okay with that. I didn't have high hopes for the lat days of the holiday.

Sounds like a good time regardless. Sometimes journaling, getting a bit written, and at least thinking about your fic is the order of the day. There's even something pleasant about simply working in a little bit of time to write whilst giving attention to other things.

15 minutes on actually writing and 15 minutes on Pinterest, looking at my inspiration board. (facepalm)
My new goal is to tackle my monster of a wip as if it was made of small oneshots.

Oh, I like that idea of imagining a massive WIP as being made up of small one-shots.

Part of my inspirations for posting book 1 of this Dexter/Buffy trilogy when I'd never before posted the start of an unfinished WIP, especially one this long, was NWHepcat -- I can't remember what she was working on at the time but it ended up being a pretty long story, but with really short chapters. And while mine ended up being more traditional length chapters, and more structured compared to her drabble chapter style, it made me feel like a big project was easily achievable by breaking it down into small chunks.
