Alas, we've reached Saturday and the end of another week. Did it go as quickly for you as it did me? As it's about four-fifths through the month, would you say you're well on your way to completing your September goals?
What did your progress include today?

• Took a break?
• ...did something else? (Tell us in the comments!)
Discussion Topic: This is probably a distracting one, but I know a lot of people make playlists for their ficwriting! Is there a song that you could say represents the fic you're working on right now? Is it the lyrics, ambiance, or some other thing that makes you feel this way?

Date: Saturday, September 24th, 2011 20:18 (UTC)Goals = completed, even though I wrote for different fandoms than I originally planned to write :)
Took a bit of a break. Needed to step back a little bit from my Taggart fic for smallfandombang becuase of a snarky @mention on twitter from someone in that fandom who clearly hasn't read anything, fic wise, of mine for show. The upside is that I'll be back at it tomorrow. Dealt with negativity and bitching too many fandoms to actually let it affect me anymore. I use the this is a bridge, walk over it approach.
For something else I started my pre-reading for my Ethics lectures at uni. Finally start back next week. Can not wait.
I either keep my itunes playing in shuffle mode when I write or listen to the local radio station but for the smallfandombang fic I've constantly looped You Only Hide and Kaplan/Thornhill both by Something For Kate. The songs fit the fic and the lyrics from You Only Hide pretty much sum up the character the main part of the fic focuses on *whew* hopes that makes sense :)

Date: Saturday, September 24th, 2011 22:55 (UTC)I'm going to cheat slightly & say that, for the fic I just posted, this fanmix I made fairly recently, when I was diving even more into writing this OT3, still applies. Though I think the mix is less specifically OT3 & more just about a theme that Natsume Yuujinchou has in general about not giving up on people & wanting to connect to people even when the world's always treated you like an outcast, & about having faith & taking chances. It's, um, totally mushy but I like it that way, hahaha.

Date: Sunday, September 25th, 2011 00:55 (UTC)I did finally come up with an idea for the fic exchange assignment I was given. It's actually a story idea I already had, but the exchangee I'm writing for provided very little information other than pairing and a few quotes. So...I figure I can sorta kill two birds with one stone.
And I'm ready to start putting words on the paper (so to speak) so I'll probably doodle a bit tonight.
No play lists for me--well generally speaking I don't put together music for specific fics, but I do find that the HP movie soundtracks are really nice while I write. I listen to them just about every day, my favorites being Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows Part 1.

Date: Sunday, September 25th, 2011 03:52 (UTC)Thankfully, I had most everything backed up, and the writing I did do yesterday was saved in Google Docs so I have access to it. Whew!
I have a playlist of Lord of the Rings soundtrack songs that work good for me, plus some other pieces from here and there that I play in a loop while writing, as there is just something about those songs that helps me write. And I don't get tired of listening to them over and over. ;-)

Date: Sunday, September 25th, 2011 07:12 (UTC)For my Big Bang I have a few fanmixes of the themes and characters in my story and I'm able to get in the writing mode when listening to them. I also made myself a writing playlist of my favorites songs to listen while writing and it works for me many times.
