Happy Toot Your Horn Sunday, writers! I'm very excited to be joining y'all for another week of progress, trying, doing what we can, and supporting one another. As always, Sundays on my check-in shifts are devoted to us patting ourselves on the back for all we've achieved during the month's WIP challenge so far. October is drawing to a close, but we still have a bit more time to meet our goals or keep striving toward the writing routine that best works for us.
Tomorrow we have a writing sprint. Based on the results from the time slot poll, 9 am - 12 pm ET would be the best time window. I will be setting up a drop-in thread for each one hour block (9 am - 10 am, 10 am - 11 am, 11 am - 12 pm) so those participating can meet and share what they're writing on, how much progress was made during the sprint, or if any of y'all just feel like chatting as you write during that hour.
Feel free to keep voting in the poll for more time slot options. We'll be doing writing sprints on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday as well.
Here are our discussion prompts:
-Name one thing you're happy about with your fic and/or the fic writing process so far.
-Share something you're proud of that you accomplished. Have you thought about your fic more than you had? Did you put something on the page no matter how short? Did you finish your outline or a first draft? Whether it's a big or small achievement, toot your horn!
-What do you have planned for this week in the October WIP challenge? Are you taking time off from writing? Pivoting to another part of your process? What are your goals for the week?

Date: Sunday, October 24th, 2021 19:45 (UTC)At the moment I am writing my first multi-chapter fic since years, which is also the first m/f fic I dare to write. It was the best decision to try to get rid of my writer's block with a new fandom to write for.
It is so much fun to work on something longer. And I am very optimistic that this will be the first multi-chapter fic, that I will actually finish and not drop due to lack of interest from my side.
What made my day was, when I checked the stats yesterday that one of the big names in the fandom read my WIP and left kudos as well.
Usually I don't give a damn about kudos since I value comments over them.

Date: Monday, October 25th, 2021 02:13 (UTC)Plans for the next week: definitely outline my NaNo project. NaNo always sneaks up on me, and I hope if I have a good outline, that'll make the month easier to not get stalled out during.
And *if* I have time around that, I'll try to get chapter two of that WIP written - I'd love to have something to post on Halloween, but we'll see.
