Date: Monday, September 26th, 2011 17:14 (UTC)Maybe tonight I'll be able to get some writing done.
Discussion topic...alas, no. I don't usually do writing exercises much anymore. The only equivalent would be homework from online classes.

Date: Monday, September 26th, 2011 20:17 (UTC)The stuff that's gone was mostly repetition but the fic feels slimmer without it and I'm further from the word count goal for the challenge. I think I know where I'm going with this, I just need a bit more energy to get it in a state where its bit to be beta read in in its entirity.
I like writing exercices for warm up and also try to experiment with differnt styles. Not a lot of that sees the light of day.

Date: Monday, September 26th, 2011 23:14 (UTC)I don't do any specific exercises, but I do keep running lists of vocabulary and phrases I really like. I'm not the best with prose so I would probably benefit if I wasn't so lazy... @_@

Date: Monday, September 26th, 2011 23:37 (UTC)Heh, yes, I actually found my vocabulary book the other day. It hasn't seen any new entries in forever >.

Date: Tuesday, September 27th, 2011 03:22 (UTC)However, I ended up making a whole different project file for this new draft (since I feel it's different enough from the original, and that I might have to start over from this...). Since this is a very long fic, doing that has helped keep things from getting out of hand. When I have to cross-reference I just keep both files open, which is a little awkward.

Date: Tuesday, September 27th, 2011 00:00 (UTC)Also, I picked a prompt at the Fall Fandom Free-For-All, so I'll be working on my first ever remix \o/
Re writing exercises: I remember bookmarking a site a while ago with advanced grammar exercises, like sentence construction which I'd find super helpful, but I've been too lazy to even open it once >.

Date: Tuesday, September 27th, 2011 02:07 (UTC)No, I don't do writing exercises. My brain really balks at things like that. Or outlining. Or researching. \O/

Date: Tuesday, September 27th, 2011 06:32 (UTC)I too never done writing exercises. My mind will tend to wonder my current projects instead of what exercise I want to try out, LOL.
