Hi, everyone! Sorry for the night check-in. I hope everyone's 2022 has started well. Going to keep it light and breezy for this one, y'all.
Discussion prompts:
-Did you write today? If yes, how did it go? If no, are you taking a break for now or are you in the middle of the planning phase?
-What's one piece of advice you'd like to give yourself at the top of 2022 to remember as the year goes on?
-Describe what you want your writing life to be like this year and/or jot down an affirmation for you to return to later.

Date: Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 03:08 (UTC)Advice to myself: Do not put off starting a time of writing because you think you won't have enough time to get anywhere with it -- if it's only a short amount of time, write something short, but write something!
My affirmation for myself: I can and I will finish this WIP in 2022!

Date: Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 10:30 (UTC)One piece of advice I'd like to give myself: No, the story is not utterly bland and boring and thus not worth bothering with - that's just your depressed brain lying to you. The story is FINE, just sit down and write.
What I want my writing life to be? I want my mojo back, dammit! (Take this as affirmation, battle cry, or Old Woman Yelling At Cloud, as you wish).

Date: Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 11:31 (UTC)I'd like to remind myself that I'm doing this because it is something that brings me joy, and I should always have fun writing. I tend to bring myself down whenever I'm not making 'enough' progress. This year I'll try to approach writing with a different mindset and celebrate every word written instead of focusing on the missing ones. Hope it sticks.

Date: Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 13:40 (UTC)2) Just keep going, I guess. If you don't write for a while, it's okay too. It's recharging the battery. Don't get lost in just another world building website, you got airtable, that's working just fine.
3) I'm not sure yet. Maybe to finish big WiPs without getting distracted by Steampunk Jack the Ripper Hades AU. *glowers*

Date: Monday, January 3rd, 2022 05:06 (UTC)I did write yesterday! And it went well!
I think the best advice to give myself would be to just not let myself get overwhelmed. Not to take on more than I can comfortably do, and not to overdo it (because I always burn out on the other end of that.)
The biggest hope I have is for consistent progress!
