Hello!
Getting started with the new year, what I am trying first and foremost is building good habits. I found this community really helpful in that. This week, I will try to focus on observing and building these habits, i hope it can be helpful for you, too.
In my check-in question today, i won't ask how many minutes you've spent on your WIP or if it was research, drafting, editing or daydreaming. I ask: did you work on your WIP today?
Discussion question: what ways did you find to effectively build writing into your daily routine?d

Date: Monday, January 10th, 2022 03:29 (UTC)I put writing time on my calendar starting at a set time in the morning, and after awhile it because a habit. I don't always write fic during that time, a lot of time it is journaling or some other kind of writing, but morning is generally when I get most of my writing work done.

Date: Monday, January 10th, 2022 04:24 (UTC)The best way for me to build writing in has been just to assign it a place in the routine. For me it isn't time-based so much as task-based: I get home from work, I eat dinner, I play a silly sim game while I eat, I check Dreamwidth, and then I write. (Unfortunately, this makes me less likely to write on my days off, when I actually have more time!)
