Hi there!
linaewen here as your (usually) trusty check-in person for this first full week of the new October month. Due to a family gathering and the worst internet ever, I am late posting today, but I shall do better hereafter. :-)
Yesterday discussion was about how awesome our fics are going to be this month. How did it go for you today in your pursuit of awesomeness? Did you have a fun writing day? Did you have a fun day period? Tell us about it -- and be sure to report any kind of writing progress you made, no matter whether it had to do with editing, writing, or even just thinking about your story. If you weren't able to get to writing today, was it still an awesome day anyway?

Hopefully she'll reply to me soon and let me know if she's okay.

Date: Monday, October 3rd, 2011 12:11 (UTC)Awesome things - working out how to use ywriter (writing software) along with Dropbox to synchronise the files between my netbook and a stationary PC. I discovered it while trying to backup the ywriter project to somewhere other than the inbuilt default of the same hard drive it was initailly saved to.
Its not just the ywriter 'project' you have to save but the ywriter projects directory as a whole as the program saves each scene in a separate .rtf file and the 'project' file itself coordinates these rtfs and stores you notes. By saving the directory you get all the rtfs (in a subdirectory called RTF5), otherwise you just get an empty shell with no actual scenes (= Help! Where's my fic gone).
I still consider that I have ywriter 'on trial' (its a shareware) until Ive gone though the whole process up to posting fic written with it. I have no complaints so far though.
Less awesome. Not finishing yesterday's scene revision. Its largely a question of length, a lot has got to happen as characters A and B look for character C (and then once they find him). I'll surely finish it in an hour or so, but I doubt I'll have time for anything new today.

Date: Monday, October 3rd, 2011 12:57 (UTC)I've also signed up for a BB challenge, which I'm excited about. The word cutoff is only 15,000 words, and it's not due until March, so I've got a lot of leeway there.
Hope everyone has a good, satisfying, productive month, whether it's with writing or something else!
