Oh dear, I totes skipped a day. My bad! Anyhoo, feel free to talk abt how your writing went yesterday and/or today.

My fic, you say? Well, I have

- written. Huzzah for me!

- edited. Not so fun, but important nonetheless.

- thought abt a plot issue/something else that's bugging me abt the fic. Yays?

- researched. Knowledge is power!

- not written anything. (If this is the case, please be gentle with yourself.)


Bonus question: for Tips Thursday, what's one piece of writing advice you have purposely avoided OR think is outdated?

I wrote a bit yesterday and today, not much, but I am making progress!

The thing I ignore that I probably shouldn't is adverbs. I use a lot of them because I am lazy! I try to clean some of them up during editing, but sometimes I don't bother! It is probably really good advice to not use them too much, but as I said, I am lazy!

I wrote. Granted it was only about 4 sentences of dialog but as I'm going through a particularly rough patch with my mental health, I'm damn proud of those 4 sentences. It's 4 I wouldn't have written otherwise.

When I have no energy I still try to write 3 sentences. For me, it keeps the story and the act of writing alive. Congrats on your 4 sentences and I hope the rough patch will end soon!

I've finished one fic yesterday which is now waiting for editing. Today, I wrote on paragraph of the other Dick or Treat fic I had started. Then I got distracted by game event. But since I've now spent all my energy, I might return to writing. :D


An advice I'll forever ignore: Switch to Comic Sans for whatever reasons.

Ah, yeah, I've never understood the gist of Comic Sans, but I guess it works for some folks? Who knows?

That fic is playing stubborn. I like the premise very much, but it just doesn't want to flow~. Still got almost two months, so I'm not yet worried.


All the power to those for which it works. I'll just remain a stubborn font elitist. ^.^;
That said, I'm just remembering, changing fonts when editing helps to spot weird things and mistakes. Like going from sans serif to serif and changing the size. I should utilise that again.
