Sorry about missing yesterday -- I had lousy internet.  I'm visiting my dad and he only has dial up, and some days, it's just too clunky and impossible to get online.  The weather here, however, is gorgeous enough to make up for any amount of internet trouble!  :-D

If you haven't already shared how your day has been going in a previous thread, let us know what kind of a writing Thursday you are having!
  • I wrote
  • I did some planning and/or research
  • I edited
  • I've sent my fic off to my beta
  • I posted today!
  • I'm taking a break
  • I had other plans
Some have shared in the past that they write well outdoors.  Let's talk about that -- do you write better outdoors or indoors?  Does really nice weather help your muse or hinder it?

I'm in between projects - I have a WIP on the plate, but my Muse isn't at all interested in working on it! I've signed up for a Big Bang that's not due until March, so I'm wondering if I might adapt the WIP (throw it into a different time period) and use it for the BB. *ponders*

I've only tried writing outdoors a couple of times. Since I can't see the laptop screen outside, it hasn't worked too well. Usually I'm in my living room, all comfy in the big recliner.

I found a first beta! Until I hear back from them, I'll do no writing whatsoever. I'm looking forward to having a bit more time to code now. :D

I normally don't write outside, it's just a bit impractical (sunlight on screen for example.) But in general, I don't have the impression that the surroundings matter much for me, as long as I can use my laptop properly.

Btw, came across a nice, editing-related quote by Oscar Wilde today: "I was working on the proof of one of my poems all the morning, and took out a comma. In the afternoon I put it back again."

Ha! That's pretty much me when I edit. I probably maybe change only a few things in the first round of editing, only to unchanged them again.

I never tried writing outside... I once wrote a drabble sitting on the steps of a subway station, though.

And I think I lost the planning skills if I ever had them. Maybe I am too tired... Wrote maybe 200 words for the sake of keeping the habit of everyday writing.

No writerly stuff done as I had a long day today and my mind has been running all over the place. I was able to do some reading and also check out a couple fic exchanges a friend of mine showed me. I'm thinking about joining one of the fic exchanges, but I have a lot of stories already that I want to get done soon, oi.

I don't think I'll be able to concentrate outdoors since whenever I'm outside there will always be a distraction of sort, lol. Like a couple others, I'm able to get some ideas going when I'm outside for a work and such.

It's been raining on and off all day and its windy - not a day for writing outdoors, though I do find that a change of environment can help. When the weather was better I did some writing at the beach: good because there's not much else to do there but impossible with the computer so everything got written by hand.

Zero writing output today, asides from work. Got my hair cut, which at least is useful.
