Still the first week of this month. Today's writing...

...and I high-fived each other (I wrote);

...and I bumped fists (I edited);

...and I shook hands (I thought of something that needs fixing or I did research);

...and I waved at each other from across the street (I didn't write).

Bonus question: for Slow Sunday, do you prefer absolute quiet or do you need music/any other kind of background noise to write?

I wrote some new words on one of my big bang fics and I edited my unconventional courtship fic. I tend to prefer quiet but if I'm writing in my kitchen then I'll listen to the local radio station on a low volume.

High fives today! I was able to write a couple of pages worth longhand in a notebook this morning, next I will type it up and see if it primes the pump even more so I can keep going.

I work best with either silence or music that is instrumental only; I cannot concentrate if there any words to the music!

I just posted my chapter. Two to go! And once again, both the first draft and the final edit came out far better than I could have imagined. All sorts of lovely tie-ins to previous foreshadowing. And as usual, the best part is they weren't all on purpose. It's like I'm following a trail of bread crumbs I left for myself.

I go back and forth between instrumental music and quiet. Maybe open the sliding door if the weather's good so I can hear the birds and the wind out back. One of my favorites is the soundtrack to GLADIATOR, which covers all sorts of moods from stirring battle to melancholy and peaceful reflection.

I wrote, but not a lot!

I prefer background noise of some kind! it helps keep me on topic :D
eta: because everyone else has specified, i prefer music with words to write to. Instrumental music is all well and good but I find that having words is just more fun to write to- it gives me the vibe of sitting in a place where other people are having conversations around me more effectively, and up until recently I used to prefer to write in cafes or libraries rather than at home.

Late, but we high-fived each other yesterday. :D

I prefer some kind of background noise. Music-wise it depends on the mood and story. No German, though, because understanding the lyrics too well distracts me too much. Also, the Star Wars soundtrack proved to be too loud and attention-grabbing, too. Putting on the documentary channel on telly is good background noise, too. Especially since they repeat their documentaries all the time and you know what's going on. XD
