For discussion: Is anyone else tempted to do NaNoWriMo next month?
It seems to be becoming more open to the idea of fanfiction. Last year, fanfic was the focus of a NaNoWriMo ‘pep talk’ by Mercedes Lackey
This year there is already a forum discussion thread open under ‘other genres’.
Also, for all nano writers, [personal profile] ladyseishou is running ‘Fast Start’ on the [community profile] nano_writers community, with inspiring ideas and prompts to help prepare for novel writing.

I wrote and revised, really. Once I've got the bulk of something written then it becomes a combo process. All that to say, I really don't know how many words I wrote. I also beta read for a friend.

As for Nano--I've never done it and have no plans to. :)

I broke my block on a WIP by going out-of-sequence, which I rarely do. Usually I find that it interrupts the proper flow of the story and it's hard to prevent it from seeming disjointed. But, I've been stuck on this story for so long, I figure anything is better than nothing.

I know how that feels! I almost never write out of order.

Today I just stared at the screen and wished I knew how to get over the tiny plot hiccup.

I'm not very good at writing long, so NaNoWriMo isn't my thing. But I applaud everyone who gives it a try!

I wrote three drabbles today, and might attempt one more.

As for NaNo, I'll be attempting it this year, but for original fiction. I did do fanfic for one year (haha the only year I've actually won...).

I decided to go out of sequence for a bit and write more of a chapter I did for my Big Bang. Able to write close to 1,100 words, wee. I actually want to get that chapter done even though I should be writing the chapters leading up to this one, LOL. Got the plot more or less figured out, so this shouldn't be a problem.

I actually plan to get my Big Bang finished and write my help_japan fic for this year's NaNo. Both stories are of different genres, so this should be very interesting. This is my first time really serious for NaNo, so I'm excited for that.
