Also, for future times when I might be doing the check-ins (this is my last day for this month), do you find this kind of poll useful?

For discussion: What challenges are you writing for / have you written for? What do you like or dislike about them? Do you prefer multifandom challenges or fandom-exclusive ones?

The poll is good honey :) I often comment from my phone so can't do the tixky boxy. My current ISP seems to dislike DW.

I quite like prompt_in_a_box over on LJ. It is multi fandom and you can write the prompts however you choose. I also like that you have November's round to post anything you missed originally and also December's where you get to use other people's prompts. Only downside is that you have to be a member before you can sign up for the rounds (excluding December's).

I also like lawandorder100 also on LJ because you hvae the chance to write for any show within the L&0 franchise/fandom every week with a new prompt posted (usually) on a Saturday. The only real rule they have is that your entry is 100 words exactly although the mods do give you leeway from time to time if your more than 10-15 words over.

Back in my X-Files days I co-wrote a fic with a friend for a challenge. The only real rules were that it focused on a specific pairing (not Mulder/Scully) and that you featured a pre-series element either wholly or briefly.

Got around 800 words and finished the rough draft of that Halloween story! Bleh, I feel there might be some stuff I'll have to revise, so I'll be doing that in a few days.

At the moment I'm doing a Big Bang challenge and I'm both nervous and excited about my story. ROMANCE AND POLITICS. *_* Challenges can be nerve wrecking for me as I don't want to mess up the execution, but it can be rewarding after I get the fic done. I prefer fandom exclusive ones as my fics won't be overlooked as much as when I go participate a multifandom one.

Overall somewhere between 500 and 1000 words, probably closer to 500. Not a very productive week fic-wise as I had some RL things demanding my attention. Next week probably won't be much better--my son's high school marching band has had competition every Saturday this month and next Saturday is the BIG one. If they do well, the move on to the next round which would be only the second time ever according to the band director. And everyone seems to think they have a great shot at it. So...

The poll is more fun than anything to me. I like the bar graph!

I am currently participating in a fic exchange. This is my first one so I really have no thoughts yet. I like the idea of a prompt and I've discovered the more pairings or prompts or ideas the better, at least for me since I struggle for plot bunnies as a general rule.

I think I prefer fandom exclusive since, if I'm participating, it's a fandom I'm interested in.

Late response! I forgot to reply after I wrote yesterday...

Anyway: I've done Yuletide once & also [community profile] poetry_fiction & an Oofuri year-end exchange. Right now I'm currently doing my Kaleidoscope assignment. I like when challenges/exchanges inspire me to write things I wouldn't normally, or to think about things a different way. Also I really like being able to give someone a fic in a small fandom that doesn't have many--since I only play in small fandoms I can definitely appreciate it.

I prefer multifandom challenges b/c most of my fandoms are too small to easily support their own challenges, & besides, there's lovely suspense in choosing what fandoms you're willing to write for, & then waiting for your assignment, & similarly w/choosing what fandoms you'd like to receive!
