Happy Sunday everyone! Congratulations on making it to week 2! Looking back at this weekend -- or this past week -- how did it go? Tell us one thing you are proud of from week 1, or something from the week that made you happy!
Sunday discussion: some of us are motivated by the start of the year, and some of us take a while to get going at the start of the year, recovering from the holiday season. So tell us:
---Are you the kind of person who makes plans at the beginning of the week?
---Are they a day by day goal, or week by week?
---Do you have a tip for when Life Happens, and your plans get derailed?
---If you're the kind of person who doesn't set out a plan, what works for you instead?
Personally, I'm still working on figuring out what kind of strategy works best for me, but joining groups that have daily and weekly check-ins is really helping me so far, encouraging me to do a little bit every day, to stop my long term goals from feeling so overwhelming. So my happy thing from week 1 is really appreciating all of you and these daily check-ins. So thank you! :)

Date: Monday, January 9th, 2023 01:46 (UTC)Typically, I don't make plans. I'm trying that out, but my work schedule, while a standard 8:30-5 job, will wear me out more one day than the next, so every day is like a brand new day of Life Happening.
Usually, I start with a to-do list for each day, and then about two days into the week, I lose it and forget whatever it was I needed to do. Then I just play it by ear until the weekend, when I can get back to planning out a to-do list, and the cycle begins again.

Date: Monday, January 9th, 2023 03:01 (UTC)I usually make plans at the beginning of the week for the whole week, but each morning I reevaluate to see when my free gaps are where I can get some possible writing done. I have a daily checklist of tasks that includes both work related stuff and creative stuff, so that helps me a lot. When Life Happens, I usually just sigh and go with it, and try to plan an extra time off for myself later on!
