Hello on Tuesday! What kind of a writing day has it been so far today -- or if today hasn't gotten going yet, how did you fare yesterday?

- I wrote
- I did some planning and/or outlining
- I did research and/or canon review
- I edited
- I've sent my fic off to my beta
- I posted today!
- I'm taking a break
- I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Thursday Discussion: what do you listen to as you write? Anything in particular, or silence?

Today I was taking a break, as last night I finally finished up my zine piece. I'm coasting on the relief of having it done for a little while, while I try to figure out my next project.

My favorite thing to listen to while writing is video game scores. I like having some sort of background noise, but having something with lyrics tends to distract me. Video game music is often designed to work well in the background, while also helping the player (or the writer!) to focus without getting bored or annoyed, ha.

I did think about my fic today, but decided against doing anything on it and read instead.

Typically, I listen to my general "working" playlists from whichever library I feel like hearing that day, but sometimes I'll also listen to episodes of MST3k that I know really well for background noise. I can sometimes write to other things, but those two are the best. Silence makes my head too loud to concentrate.
