Hello writing buddies! We're gonna pretend I didn't miss another day and instead that I'm just a few several hours late on posting. ;) I know personally I started to drag a little, but we have 3 days left this month, so let's cheer each other on and finish strong with our January fanfic writing goals!
For your writing weekend:
---are you on track to meet your January goal?
---does the pressure of an impending deadline help you write?
---does cheerleading help that final productivity?
---are you the kind of person who just buckles down to knock those words out
Final question of my Lunar New Year themed week: does your fic take place at a specific time(s) of year? Or could it take place at any time? For you personally, are you more productive with writing at a specific time of year (for example winter after the holidays, school breaks, nano, when the weather keeps you indoors, etc?) or is your writing spread more evenly throughout the year, or does it really vary with circumstance?
The 31st is a Tuesday, for those of you who do most of your writing on the weekends, good luck and I know you can conquer those wips!

Date: Saturday, January 28th, 2023 17:25 (UTC)My broader goals were to establish a regular writing habit (at least a few words per day at the very least) which I did very well for the first couple weeks, but has trickled off a bit, but that just means I have a good start and can keep improving :)
Glass Onion is set in May 2020, which is a far more specific date than I usually use for fic, but normally I at least pick a season, so I know what the weather is like and stuff. In terms of my own writing, normally I struggle more with seasonal depression so I'm basically hibernating and not getting any writing done during the winter, but I've been much more productive this winter, which is quite exciting!

Date: Sunday, January 29th, 2023 02:08 (UTC)Having a deadline used to work to motivate me, but now I just change the deadline if it is too much pressure! I usually just buckle down and get it done when I get tired of putting it off, or when I realize how long it has actually been since I wrote a new chapter.
My fic is currently set in March but the season and time of year doesn't really affect the story at this point. My own writing is spread pretty evenly, I would say, with no set time of year being better or worse for writing.

Date: Sunday, January 29th, 2023 04:57 (UTC)Fics typically happen whenever I need them to (or, alternatively, during whatever season I'm writing them in), but unless it's specifically a seasonal thing, they can pretty much take place whenever. But then, I live in Southern California, where we have no defined seasons and the weather changes on a whim, so who knows?
For me, I tend to write almost exclusively on weekends, as work leaves me exhausted, but that's about the extent of my scheduled writing time.
