Good morning! I'm psyco_chick32 and I'll be checking in with you guys as we wrap up this month's WIP challenge!!
How's everybody doing today? Word Count? *points to icon* Is this a common thought lately? Let us know in the comments!!
Also, let's talk about Descriptive Writing.
"Substitute 'damn' every time you're inclined to write 'very'; your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be." ~ Mark Twain.
Do you love adverbs and adjectives? Do you make an effort not to use them? Obviously, descriptors can add a lot of word padding when you're desperately trying to hit a goal (**cough** NANO **cough**) - is that a "trap" you've fallen into?

The thing about 'writing rules' for me, is that they're really more like 'guidelines'.
This is, for real, my writing motto. There are times when I follow The Almighty Grammar Rules perfectly... then other time, my beta has accused me of "wholeheartedly destroying the English language... with good reason."
Hemingway lived near me! I want to go to his house and see if I'm haunted by him for my abuse of incredibly awesome adjectives. ;)
