Date: Sunday, April 15th, 2012 21:10 (UTC)I love using the weather in a number of different ways, whether just to set a certain mood or as outright pathetic fallacy. "Ruin" certainly makes use of that trick; the ST:DS9 stories I write are, of course, set on a space station, so it's very hard to include atmospheric conditions in those :)

Date: Sunday, April 15th, 2012 21:27 (UTC)I love seasonal stuff in fic -- my current fandom love, Natsume Yuujinchou, works in tons of gorgeous seasonal imagery, so I love to see that in fic. I try to put it in but probably not so well.

Date: Sunday, April 15th, 2012 21:35 (UTC)I've used weather a lot in my writings, since much of what I write takes place outside, and weather can affect the plot. Even when it doesn't, it's a nice thing to include to set the atmosphere or even just flesh out details of setting.
