Date: Monday, September 17th, 2012 22:34 (UTC)I do not mind at all if betas point out mistakes. Sure if it is a really dumb embarrassing error, I might blush, but I am still very grateful to my beta. I don't even need things sugarcoated, the harsh truth is also somthing I am fond of. I want to become the best writer I can, just getting praise won't get me there.

Both my betas for my recently finished FMA Big Bang pointed out so many characterization and fact check (in this case, military and political stuff) mistakes and I would headdesk over that. It's good though I have the chance to fix it before posting the final version, so at least I'll learn from my mistakes now.

Date: Tuesday, September 18th, 2012 05:25 (UTC)I usually laugh when a beta points out something wrong, because it's always something obvious that I totally missed. If it's not an actual mistake, it's something that wasn't clear, so I know I have to tighten it up. I'm glad to have such things pointed out, even after the fact when I've already posted it. I can always go back and edit something that's been posted, so I'll take pointers like that any time.

Date: Tuesday, September 18th, 2012 10:51 (UTC)I... wouldn't know. XD When Riese or Kitty were fixing up my errors on the fly it was like 'whoops! hehe!' and I just continued on. I think it's because they were more like alphas, because they were right there writing with me so it's different. We'll be getting some beta help with this first part, though, so I'll most certainly find out!
