Today's discussion topic:

[ASK A FRIEND TO FACT-CHECK YOUR FIC (Fanfic Flamingo) SHE FINDS ERRORS. WANT TO DIE OF MORTIFICATION.]

Despite knowing how helpful it is, how do you feel when a beta points out mistakes in your fic?

I thought about writing for a bit today, but I didn't try very hard to do it, since I was purposefully avoiding anything that had a "must do" tag on it. It was a good break. Back to it tomorrow, and then we'll see if I can get writing on the schedule.

I usually laugh when a beta points out something wrong, because it's always something obvious that I totally missed. If it's not an actual mistake, it's something that wasn't clear, so I know I have to tighten it up. I'm glad to have such things pointed out, even after the fact when I've already posted it. I can always go back and edit something that's been posted, so I'll take pointers like that any time.
