What's the longest thing you've ever written? What do you like or dislike about writing at that length?
The longest thing I've written is my WIP, Rheotaxis. That's currently at 190,000 words. I like having space for multiple plot threads and to investigate what a lot of different characters are doing. The length is also letting me create and explore an alien culture.

Date: Sunday, September 15th, 2013 21:11 (UTC)My longest fic is currently at 134,546 words. I'm a long way from finishing it, so who knows how long it will be when I finish it? Or when that will be!
I definitely like working with long fics because I can really develop characters. I also like having multiple plot threads. It gets discouraging at times when I realize how much I have left to go to tell the story I want to tell, and I have less time to write. I'm sure my readers despair when I don't update for an eternity!
