Happy Thursday! What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?
- I thought about my fic once or twice
- I wrote
- I did some planning and/or research
- I edited
- I've sent my fic off to my beta
- I posted today!
- I'm taking a break
- I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Date: Thursday, May 28th, 2015 14:41 (UTC)I used to dislike both writing and reading fixed length fics, drabbles in particular (fics that are exactly 100 words in length). I'm not sure why, maybe because they seemed too "barren" to me (I like lots of description and details my stories!). However, I have grown to like them better, and while I still don't necessarily go out of my way to read them, I do write stories that are of fixed length -- usually only when it is required for challenge, though.

Date: Thursday, May 28th, 2015 22:27 (UTC)I'm willing to write for challenges that have a minimum word length as long as that minimum isn't more than about 2000 words. I'm unwilling to write for anything that has a maximum number of words or a fixed number of words. I know myself well enough to be sure that I'd have a terrible time doing either.

Date: Friday, May 29th, 2015 01:21 (UTC)Progress is pretty good. I've done four of the five days of the current Fic Promptly Challenge Week, and I'm sure I'll be able to do the fifth, so ... that's definitely a goal met for the month.

Date: Friday, May 29th, 2015 02:15 (UTC)I like writing and reading fixed length fic. From a writing perspective, sticking to a set word length keeps me from rambling on about tangential, unnecessary information. As a reader I like seeing how the author works with the restraints imposed by the format.
