Sorry, the day got away from me! I imagine some of you have already called it a day and won't see this post until you wake up on Day 26. In that case, tell us how you did yesterday with your writing. ;-)
Here's the sometimes-true quote of the day:
1. How has your inspiration clubbing gone today?
3. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most positive, how are you feeling about your writing efforts today -- and why did you choose that number?
4. The "answer if you feel like it" question: What do you do to get yourself inspired, if inspiration is attempting to elude you?
Here's the sometimes-true quote of the day:
You can't wait for inspiration, you have to go after it with a club.

1. How has your inspiration clubbing gone today?
- I'm writing!
- I'm researching!
- I'm editing!
- I'm taking a break!
- I'm wishing I had time to write, but I'm just too busy with other things...
3. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most positive, how are you feeling about your writing efforts today -- and why did you choose that number?

Date: Monday, April 25th, 2011 22:16 (UTC)I also wrote a drabble for the drabblefest in my journal, which was exciting! Sometimes it's hard for me to condense an idea or a feeling down to drabble length, so I was pleased I managed at least one here.
I also tried writing another drabble prompt--we shall see. Total word count for the day was about 360, which is pretty low, but I feel all right about it.
When inspiration's eluding me sometimes I make a firm decision to take a break: Right! For this week I'm not even going to try to write fic! None whatsoever! & sometimes that's enough to recharge me. Sometimes I try to do something out of the ordinary to shake myself up a little. Even if it's something small. I started walking to work a few days a week recently, for a variety of reasons (exercise, being annoyed w/how much the bus costs, enjoying the startlingly nice weather) -- but one of them was that I thought it would bust up my routine a little. Which it did -- I did a lot of thinking about fic while I was walking! Except now walking has become sort of routine, so... hm. Must try something new. ;)

Date: Monday, April 25th, 2011 22:37 (UTC)2: 300 words. As noted, I'm not sure if that's good or bad. *lol*
3: Still doing math homework (confused by half-life, which is bad as I'm a geology major), so still not doing things with numbers. Besides, I'm so weirded out by my writing efforts today that I'd probably need to answer something like "cube root of infinity". ;-)
4: Like littlebutfierce, if inspiration is eluding me, I'll often decide to ignore writing for a fixed time and then try again. (During that time, of course, I'll keep an eye out for prompts or fests that feel like they might inspire me.)
If I have a specific story or batch of stories to work on but just don't feel like the words are "clicking", I'll make a commitment to write something down, even if it's dreck. That's usually only during fic_rush, though (that being my timed-writing event of choice).

Date: Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 03:36 (UTC)I've been completely derailed from my WIP due to devastating news in my fandom, and a new fic that insisted on being written immediately in response. Now I need to get myself back into the correct frame of mind for this other fic.
I usually find that the best way to get inspiration back is to re-watch episodes from whatever fandom I'm trying to write (this works because I almost always write television fandoms). However, that's also a great way to procrastinate, so I have to be careful.

Date: Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 05:58 (UTC)My fic continues to need every kind of researches. How to spoil a man born in a hard time when you have billions of money? How should a plaque spread? etc.
I find my inspiration by writing other things. Then I go back to deal with it.

Date: Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 12:10 (UTC)Word counts still count even if you end up revising/severely editing what you've already written. Ask any published author. :)
GUYS I'M DONE WITH MY APRIL CHALLENGE! /o/
Date: Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 13:36 (UTC)2. I FINISHED my rough draft for spn_j2_bigbang!!! It came in at 269K and over 500 pages AND I'M TAKING A WEEK OFF OF IT before tackling the massive editing. XD So I'll be back for the May challenge. >.>
3. 10!!!
4. If it's like writer's block or I'm stuck in a fic, usually I write a short porn fic. XD Or if I'm just dragging along but know what I'm going to write, I listen to sprints, ask friends for encouragement, and/or do writing sprints.
I'M DONE!!!!!!!! IT'S BEEN TURNED IN TO THE MODS AND I'M DONE!!!!!
