Tell us how your day has gone, writing wise:

Awesome!
Pretty good.
On schedule.
Okay.
Like crap.
I took the day off.

Some discussion/get to know you questions:

How long have you been involved in fandom?

What made you want to start writing fan fic in the first place?

What was the first fandom for which you wrote fanfic?

Do you still write fic in that fandom?

I have not written anything new as yet today, but I have had an awesome time looking over some old, unposted stories/chapters that needed editing and posting here and there. I have successfully edited them all and posted several of them, and will do the rest tomorrow. Not only did this accomplish something that I've been meaning to do for some time, but it also reminded me about how really good some of earlier writings are (if I do say so myself) -- which is an encouragement I need when trying to get back into writing the newer stuff that somehow seems a bit stale! I'm now most definitely in a writing frame of mind, so if I can continue to avoid housework and Real Life entanglements a bit longer, I should be able to actually write some new words today.

How long have you been involved in fandom?

I confess it, I have been involved in fandom for some 40 years. That should give you a hint that I am soundly middle-aged. ;-) Age has little meaning when it comes to fannish pursuits, however, so I'm not shy about that! I did not start writing serious fanfic, however, until about 10 years ago.

What made you want to start writing fan fic in the first place?

I have always enjoyed writing, and in my younger days I did some composing of stories, but never really wrote them up properly. However, I became involved in an online community for Lord of the Rings after the films came out (though I was a serious fan of the books for years and years before that). When I saw other people writing, I decided it was something I should do as well, particularly since my love for the fandom had been revitalized. I love "filling in the blanks" for scenes and stories that didn't get enough page time, and there's lots of that to be covered in LotR.

What was the first fandom for which you wrote fanfic?

My first fanfic was for Lord of the Rings, and that's pretty much all I have been writing until recently. Last year, I added to my writing interests something totally different -- anime/manga-based fanfic for Major.

Do you still write fic in that fandom?

All of my writing, except for my mult-chapter Major story, is still Lord of the Rings. I am currently working on three multi-chaptered tales in that fandom and have several one shots going as well. Not to mention several ideas on the drawing board that I refuse to start working on until the others are wrapped up! :-D

I definitely agree that, sometimes, looking over what we've written somehow sparks that need to start writing new fic. So, yay, you!
