Date: Friday, August 26th, 2011 20:11 (UTC)Ginny lounged sideways in Dad’s armchair, legs dangling over one side, remembering being in Draco’s arms on the dance floor the night before last. One large hand had rested along the curve of her waist, thumb lightly brushing the skin along the edge of her dress, the other hand held hers against his heart. It had been a very romantic evening, though he’d said goodbye at her doorstep with nothing more than a tender kiss that left her both completely charmed and frustratingly aroused and a promise of soon.
“So who’s the bloke?”
“What?” Ginny looked up to find Percy, George, Ron and Hermione watching her with unconcealed amusement. Ron and Hermione huddled close together on the settee holding hands, Hermione’s engagement ring glinting in the afternoon light, and legs tangled together at the ankles. George was sprawled along the other end of the settee, one arm draped across the back, winding his fingers in Hermione’s hair, and Percy sat properly in Mum’s chair.
“Who’s the bloke?” Ron repeated. “You’ve been unusually pleasant the last several Sundays and today you’re positively glowing.”
Heat rushed to Ginny’s face, though she didn’t deny it. She couldn’t. She felt as if she were glowing.
“We’ve come to the conclusion that you must have . . .” Ron coughed and turned an unflattering shade of pink. “. . . met someone.”
“What Ron can’t bring himself to say,” George said with a grin, “is that we think you must finally be getting some. So who’s the lucky bloke?”
Ron choked on his pumpkin juice and Hermione rubbed his back, laughing.
Thankfully, Mum and Dad had decided to sit outside and enjoy the moderate temperatures while they lasted. Not that George would have been that blunt in their presence.
However, since Mum and Dad weren’t within hearing distance, Ginny couldn’t resist. “Who says it’s a bloke?” she asked, raising a brow. “The Harpies are an all-women team.”
George’s eyes nearly popped out of his head and Hermione’s mouth opened and closed like a fish. Ron paled and looked floored.
Ginny fought hard to keep a straight face.
“Why little sister, I had no idea . . . the thought intrigues me.” George pondered her words for a moment and then asked, “All right, who’s the lucky woman?”
Unable to hold back her mirth any longer, Ginny burst into hearty laughter.
“Ah . . . so it is a bloke and he’s got you telling jokes now. Come on, we’d like to thank him and buy him a firewhiskey.”

Date: Friday, August 26th, 2011 21:22 (UTC)Did 200w or so of bits and bobs today. Im being horribly attracted to wrting other fic while working on my WIP. I discovering that 1.5K I had was in fact 1.5K of planning of a scene and not the scene itelf - which remains to be written...
Yes I am looking for a beta. Its not made easy by half the fandom doing the 'Blind go' challenge (like me) and you disqualify anyone from guessing which fic you wrote if you show them first (i.e. if they beta for you).

Date: Friday, August 26th, 2011 21:51 (UTC)Argh! I feel like I'm drowning in dialogue at the moment. It's driving me bananas! Quite frankly it's putting me off so I'm going to get out Write or Die and just plow though this scene, even if it is a pile of crap. Can't edit what I don't have.
Apart from that, I'm surprisingly ok with my big bang. I was rereading bits to edit and got to the bit where I had stopped and was a bit annoyed with myself cos I wanted to read more. Good sign I suppose that it's not as bad as I think.

Date: Friday, August 26th, 2011 23:58 (UTC)IRL, I'm being thankful that I live just south enough to miss the effects of that earthquake earlier this week and that upcoming hurricane's everyone has been talking about -- the Eastern Seaboard's having quite a tough week. :/

Date: Saturday, August 27th, 2011 02:07 (UTC)I've been on vacation at the lake all week, headed home in the morning, so I'll be safely tucked in before the hurricane arrives. I don't expect it to amount to much in my area, but I'm VERY glad not to have to drive 75 miles in it.

Date: Saturday, August 27th, 2011 04:46 (UTC)Have been looking for a beta in Eureka fandom for a ficlet and so far nobody has got back to me, which in hindsight is a good thing because I keep adding bits to the outline for it.
For me I've had 3 trips to England for a family wedding, a holiday and the cup final. Today I'm off to London to watch my team play in the cup final. Can't wait :D
I also got a date from my new landlord and I move house next month thankfully it's on the same weekend that my mum and step-dad are coming up to Scotland for a visit.
