Tell us about your writing endeavors for the day. Have you...

Discussion question . . . what fandom have you been most involved in? What's the most surprising/unbelievable thing (to you) that you've done in that fandom?

Most active fandom to date is Hikago - probably obvious as I talk about little else.

Surprising/unbelievable...Winning the Blind Go guessing three times I suppose.. or was it the nine months of lurking at the beginning.

I wrote a lot last night, don't know how much. I'm now really tired.

Has anyone else tried asking for C&C on fanfic from non-fanfic writers?

I've got the second part of my new-ish series nearly sort of done -- I really just need some concentrated time (maybe this weekend?) to go through & do some edits & then find another pair of eyes to look at it. I've been flailing w/part 3, mostly cuz of some character motivations I don't quite understand. I wrote some more snippety bits of the third part tonight, trying to figure those out. Not so sure I'm there yet, but it feels a bit more possible!

In one sense I've been most involved in Ookiku Furikabutte fandom, b/c it was the first one I really started writing fic for, & still the one I've written the most stories (but not the most words) for. But OTOH I think really I'm most involved w/[community profile] natsumeyuujinchou b/c not only did I start the comm (& do weekly discussion posts on new eps, etc.), I've been writing tons of fic for it. I don't know if there's anything super surprising or unbelievable I've done in it, though! I'm pleased that, even though the fandom & comm are small, I've managed to generate at least a small but steady bit of activity.

Didn't edit today, and probably won't the next few days either because I'm going to be away on a business trip. But I'm investigating speech recognition software to help me with my arm/wrist problems. (I'm actually dictating this comment.)

Most active fandom—hard to tell. I'm a fannish butterfly, so I've dabbled in a lot of fandoms…

Some more brainstorming for my bb fic and started some research too. Waiting for the email from one of the mods of prompt_in_a_box with my prompts for this month's round.
Don't think this counts as a writing endeavour but I wrote a small post here about my options and fears for the bb I signed up for.

I've been heavily involved in several fandoms over the years - X-Files, SG1, L&O (original and svu), Killer Instinct (though I was alone). There are other fandoms but they're the ones that come to mind more easily. Most of my fandom activity has been fic but I also make icons and wallpapers too. I have made a couple of music videos for other fandoms, though they aren't very good and also made a few fanmixes which were quite fun to put together.

More editing and about 300 new words. I have a feeling this fic might grow a lot before I'm done.

I didn't get anywhere with writing -- I counted it as taking the day off, because I had time to write but didn't feel like it! ;-)

Looking back, I think the most surprising thing I did in the LotR fandom was to join an online fanclub, getting to know people virtually -- then later arranging to meet some of them and becoming friends in real life. Groups of us who first met online would go together to things like Renaissance Faires and the Lord of the Rings Exhibition and viewing Tolkien's papers in a museum collection. Awesome stuff! That online fanclub was also responsible for me working up the courage to start writing and posting fic.

Another good day yesterday - wrote and posted a new one-shot, 3000 words. September continues to be a success!

Most active fandom - I'd say the current one (Supernatural). I started watching from the pilot in Sept 2005, but really got into the fandom about a year later. Have been to several conventions and made several RL friends. Learned how to make icons. And to date... I've done 1,300,000 words of fic. (Two novels, about 15-20 multi-chaps, and about 300 one-shots.) That's pretty unbelievable to me, particularly since every time I think I'm running out of steam, the Muse wakes up and we take off again!

Yesterday I was able to edit the rest of the first chapter of my Big Bang saved for one scene and one little part my beta suggested I should change, but I'll get back to those soon since I really want to focus on editing the second chapter and finishing the third chapter first. One of the edits I was doing is writing out a political discussion of sorts my beta believed would make the chapter more suspenseful, and those are not easy to come up with on the fly, LOL.

I'm most involved in Pokemon and Fullmetal Alchemist and in both fandoms I wrote fic, make banners and icons, and have discussions about those series with my friends.
