Monday's here and with it, a whole new day to talk about our goal fics. :)
OK, and now, for today's questions: are the majority of your fics based on one genre? Do you ever write a genre that'd be considered the reverse of that? Is there a genre you wish you could try out but haven't?

Date: Tuesday, June 21st, 2011 03:40 (UTC)IDK, I was a bit like that too, but AU bingo gave me all sorts of interesting ideas for genres/AUs I hadn't tried yet so I was wiling to go for it. I think it's easier to experiment with new genres with something like a bingo card because it's only one fic for a bingo, rather than, say, sitting down and deciding you're going to write zombies today. Or something. IDK, it works for me, and I don't see the harm in trying a new genre at least once, just to see if it's any fun and if it's something I'm any good at. But if the plot bunny's not there, it is harder to write. That's possibly why I threw so much crack and humour into my detective fic. I didn't think I had the ~smarts~ to write a proper detective story. I can't plot like that, but I can write puns, so puns won out. :D
